How accurate is the FD calculator?
Our calculator uses the standard compound interest formula used by Indian banks. The results are highly accurate when you input the correct interest rate and compounding frequency. However, actual bank calculations may vary slightly due to rounding or specific bank policies.
How often are bank interest rates updated?
We update the bank FD interest rates regularly, typically when major banks announce rate changes. The "Last Updated" date is shown on the rates comparison table. Always verify rates with your bank before investing.
Is my data safe?
Yes! Your calculation data is stored only in your browser's local storage on your device. We do not store your financial inputs on our servers. You can clear this data anytime using the "Clear All" button or your browser settings.
Why is there a difference between my calculation and the bank's?
Minor differences can occur due to: (1) Different compounding methods, (2) Rounding differences, (3) Exact number of days in the period, or (4) Different interest rates. Our calculator uses quarterly compounding which is standard for most Indian banks.
